This one goes out to all of my fellow “I want pretty views but I don’t want to have to work for them” friends – hello, are we one and the same?? You want to experience all of the phenomenal scenery that the PNW has to offer for your elopement, but realistically, you know you’re not going to want to hike in your dress/suit and work up a sweat that could ruin your hair and makeup. Or maybe one of you or your guests has mobility restrictions, and simply won’t be able to make a long trek on your elopement day, but you’re still dying to see the incredible mountains!! No prob, boo – that’s why I’ve got these 30 easily-accessible adventure elopement locations in the PNW that require either no hiking or very little hiking/walking. Non-hiking, PNW-loving folks unite!

30 Easily-Accessible Adventure Elopement Locations in the PNW

I’ve got a variety of locations on this list for you, from waterfalls to alpine lakes to mountain viewpoints and SO much more. They’re divided into all of my favorite parts of the PNW: Mount Rainier, Olympic NP, the North Cascades, Mount Baker, Snoqualmie, the Gorge, and the San Juan Islands!

Easy Elopement Locations in Mount Rainier National Park

1. Tipsoo Lake

One of the most popular locations in the Mount Rainier area due to its ease of access & stunning views of the lake, trees, and Rainier in the distance!!

Accessible by car/foot: Foot

Hike required? Yes (barely)

Round trip distance: 0.7 mi

Elevation gain: 19 ft

Average completion time: 13 min

Wheelchair-friendly? Not the area around the lake itself, but there is a paved parking lot with great views of Tipsoo

Dog-friendly? No

Best time to elope: June-September

2. Grove of the Patriarchs*

A gorgeous, self-guided nature trail that takes you through a forest of old-growth trees, boardwalks, and bridges.

Accessible by car/foot: No

Hike required? Yes

Round trip distance: 1.3 mi

Elevation gain: 52 ft

Wheelchair-friendly? No

Dog-friendly? No

Best time to elope: June-September

*Note: As of the time of writing this guide, September 2023, this trail is closed due to flooding until further notice.

3. Reflection Lakes

A popular trail along Stevens Canyon Road that gives you a glorious reflection of Mount Rainier in the lakes – hence the name! The wildflowers and subalpine meadows surrounding the lake in the summer are magical✨

Accessible by car/foot: Car, but there are hikes in the area too!

Hike required? Nope, unless you want to explore one of the nearby trails

Wheelchair-friendly? Not if you want to get right up to the lake, but you absolutely can see the beautiful view from the parking lot!

Dog-friendly? No

Best time to elope: June-September

4. Myrtle Falls

A beautiful little waterfall near Paradise that’s super easy to get to + features a stunning view of Rainier in the background!

Accessible by car/foot: Foot

Hike required? Yes (barely)

Round trip distance: 0.7 mi

Elevation gain: 154 ft

Average completion time: 21 min

Wheelchair-friendly? No

Dog-friendly? No

Best time to elope: June-September

5. Paradise Visitor Center

If you want to get views of Mount Rainier without having to hike, you can hang around the Paradise Visitor Center! There are a variety of short, paved paths around the center that you can walk along to get great views of the mountain.

Accessible by car/foot: Car

Hike required? No, unless you want to do one of the hikes that leaves from the visitor center

Wheelchair-friendly? Yes, certain paved paths around the visitor center

Dog-friendly? No

Best time to elope: June-September

6. Crystal Mountain Gondola

Want a totally unique perspective of Mount Rainier? Take this gondola up to Crystal Mountain Resort, where you’ll get stunning views of Rainier and the Cascades without any effort at all!

Hike required? Nope!

Wheelchair-friendly? No

Dog-friendly? Only during the summer

Best time to elope: Summer for clearer views, winter for epic skiing

Easy Elopement Locations in Olympic National Park

7. Lake Crescent

One of the most beautiful and easily-accessible spots in the entire park, boasting amazing views of the Olympic Mountains and plenty of forest area to explore. There’s even a cozy lodge right on the shores of the lake!

Accessible by car/foot: Car

Hike required? Nope!

Wheelchair-friendly? 

Dog-friendly? Only along Spruce Railroad Trail, on the north shore of the lake

Best time to elope: Any time of year!

8. Hurricane Ridge

Hurricane Ridge is THE place to go if you want to experience those glorious mountain views that Olympic NP has to offer, buuut you don’t want to have to hike to get there. You’ll

9. Hoh Rainforest “Hall of Mosses”

The Hoh Rainforest is literally the most magical, enchanting place you will EVER visit, exploding with lush greenery everywhere, wild tree roots, ferns galore, and moss everywhereee – hence the name of the popular “Hall of Mosses” trail.

Accessible by car/foot: Foot

Hike required? Yes (barely)

Round trip distance: 1.1 mi

Elevation gain: 78 ft

Average completion time: 24 min

Wheelchair-friendly? Partially – the trail is paved, but the first 0.1 mi is the most accessible

Dog-friendly? No

Best time to elope: Any time of year!

10. Ruby Beach

Ruby Beach is famous for its spectacular coastline views, giant seastacks, and glorious golden hours, PLUS it’s easy as hell to get to – so it’s no surprise that it’s one of the most visited spots in the park!

Accessible by car/foot: Foot

Hike required? Nope!

Wheelchair-friendly? No, except for one overlook with a wheelchair-accessible ramp 

Dog-friendly? No

Best time to elope: Any time of year!

11. Rialto Beach

Located just off of La Push Road (yes, that La Push, for all you Twilight lovers!!), Rialto Beach is another gorg beach covered in driftwood that fully embodies allll the moody PNW coastal vibes.

Accessible by car/foot: Foot

Hike required? Nope, unless you want to go to the iconic “Hole in the Wall

Wheelchair-friendly? Only in the summer, when there’s a wheelchair-accessible ramp on the path to the beach

Dog-friendly? No

Best time to elope: Any time of year!

Easy Elopement Locations in North Cascades National Park

12. Diablo Lake

This iconic, vibrant blue lake is super easy to get to – all you have to do is park your car either at the overlook or at the base of the lake! There ARE plenty of hikes around the lake, though, if you do end up wanting to break a little bit of a sweat to get different views of the water.

Hike required? Nope!

Wheelchair-friendly? Yes, there are wheelchair-friendly facilities at the overlook

Dog-friendly? Yes

Best time to elope: May-September

13. Washington Pass Overlook

This one is literally just a rest stop along the side of the scenic North Cascades Highway – you just park your car, take a super short walk through some trees, and bam! You’ve got STUNNING views of the epic mountain range around ya. Even if you don’t elope or take portraits here, it’s the perfect spot to stop on a road trip and stretch your legs while you take in the majestic mountain scenery 🙂

Accessible by car/foot: Foot

Hike required? Not really – it’s literally just a quick walk

Round trip distance: 0.3 mi

Elevation gain: 108 ft

Average completion time: 12 min

14. Lake Chelan

Lake Chelan is a gorgeous, glacier-fed lake in central WA with plenty of outdoor activities, small-town charm, vineyards, and stunning mountain views. The lake itself is easy to access, whether you want to check out one of the easy trails nearby or just lounge on the shores!

Accessible by car/foot: Both

Hike required? Nope!

Wheelchair-friendly? Partially – there are 0.2 miles of ADA-accessible hiking trails

Dog-friendly? Yes

Best time to elope: June-August

Easy Elopement Locations at Mount Baker

15. Artist Point

I will praise Artist Point FOREVER for its epic views, with spectacular mountains, wildflower fields, subalpine meadows, sparkling lakes, and more – aaaand it’s easy af to get to during the summer. Just drive your car all the way up Mount Baker Highway, park, and walk in any direction to find amazing scenery! Note that the last stretch of the road up to Artist Point closes as soon as it snows/stays closed until the snow melts, so in the winter you do have to hike to get there.

16. Heather Meadows

Heather Meadows is the area lower down on the Mount Baker Highway than Artist Point, that you can access even when the top stretch of the road is closed in the winter. The scenery is just as stunning as it is up at Artist Point, with tons of easy trails to explore, majestic landscapes filled with wildflowers & lush meadows, and a collection of little lakes!

Hike required? Nope, not unless you want to!

Wheelchair-friendly? Certain trails – the Fire and Ice Trail & Bagley Lakes Trail

Dog-friendly? Yes

17. Picture Lake

Walk along a quick 0.4-mile round trip trail to get to this picturesque (hah) lake surrounded by the most amazing views, plus absolutely MAGICAL colors in the fall! The reflection of Mount Shuksan in this lake is just *chef’s kiss* and you don’t even need to break a sweat to see it 😉

18. Rattlesnake Lake

I looove Rattlesnake Lake because it is SO easy to get to and there is zerooo hiking required!! Simply drive up, park in the parking lot, and walk wherever your heart takes you – you’ll get dreamy mountain scenery no matter where you go, and it’s even wheelchair-friendly.

19. Gold Creek Pond

Gold Creek Pond is another spectacular, crystal clear, ADA-accessible alpine lake (well, pond) in the middle of Washington’s mountains, and – you guessed it – there’s no hiking required to enjoy it!!

Dog-friendly? Yes

20. Franklin Falls

If you want to find a gorgeous waterfall in the forest that’s kid-friendly and takes you on a teeny bit of a hike, Franklin Falls is a perf option! It’s just a mile to get to the falls, or you can even stop a little earlier at a different viewpoint if you don’t care about getting up close & personal with it.

Elevation gain: 354 ft

Dog-friendly? Yes

21. Snoqualmie Falls

Snoqualmie Falls is an obvious one to include in this list, being that it’s an iconic Washington attraction & only requires you to follow a short out-and-back hike to get to the viewpoint at the top of the falls!

Accessible by car/foot: Foot

Hike required? Yes

Round trip distance: 1.5 mi

Wheelchair-friendly? Only the observation deck at the upper falls

Dog-friendly? Yes

Best time to elope: June-September

Easy Elopement Locations in the Columbia River Gorge

22. Latourell Falls

Latourell Falls is probably one of the most easily-accessible waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge, and it’s so damn MAJESTIC that it’s pretty crazy how easy it is to get there. You can do the longer loop trail, or you can just take the quick walk from the parking lot to get right to the dramatic falls!

Wheelchair-friendly? Only the short path from the parking lot

Dog-friendly? Yes

Best time to elope: May-October

23. Multnomah Falls

Whether you want to elope at Multnomah Falls or just stop there on your drive through the Gorge, it’s an absolute must-visit! It can get pretty crowded, but the powerful falls and wildflowers that line the trails in the spring + summer are def worth it.

24. Rowena Crest Viewpoint

If you want a crazy-ass viewpoint in the Gorge without having to hike, Rowena Crest Viewpoint is SUCH an epic spot!! Simply drive up the windy highway and you’ll find incredible views of the Columbia Gorge, Hood River, & the Dalles. It’s an iconic, very Instagram-worthy spot that you’ve probably seen photos of before!

Easy Elopement Locations in the San Juan Islands

25. Lime Kiln Point State Park

Lime Kiln Point State Park is a beautiful park on the western shore of San Juan Island, home to the picturesque Lime Kiln Lighthouse & amazing views of Puget Sound. It’s one of the best places in the world to go whale-watching, aaand you don’t have to hike to enjoy the incredible PNW scenery!

Dog-friendly? Yes

26. Mount Constitution

Located in Moran State Park, Mount Constitution is one of the best places to go on Orcas Island if you want to get those gorgeous views of the island from high up. And the best part? You can drive to the top of Mount Constitution as long as it’s not snowing!

Hike required? Nope, not unless you want to!
