Best Intimate Wedding Venues In or Near Seattle, WA

Are you looking for a list of the best intimate wedding venues in and near Seattle? If so, you’re in the right place! As a Seattle wedding photographer, I’ve visited countless venues in the area and am here to give you my top favorites.

Best Intimate Wedding Venues in Seattle, WA

Fairmont Olympic Hotel

This Seattle wedding venue is the epitome of luxury. Located in the downtown area, Fairmont Olympic features high-end accommodations, classic architecture, and an epic grand staircase that makes for a stunning wedding ceremony backdrop! Although I’ve classified this as an intimate wedding venue, this hotel can host large events as well! There are a total of 12 unique spaces within Fairmont Olympic for you to choose from for your Seattle wedding.

Olympic Rooftop Pavilion

Another downtown Seattle wedding venue, the Pavilion offers a unique rooftop setting with an insane view of the infamous city skyline! Seattle is such a perfect place to host a rooftop wedding, as the sunsets are beautiful and nothing beats that view. Because the city can be unpredictable when it comes to weather, the Pavillion is totally covered, featuring an open-air design with south and west-facing window walls that can be fully opened. You get wonderful mountain and waterway views and the option to take advantage of the completely outdoor patio on warm summer evenings!

Imperia Lake Union

Imperia Lake Union was originally built in 1927, and it still has the same old-glamor 20s theme! You’ll be transported with the authentic Art-Deco vibe it’s got going on, along with the 10-foot chandeliers, copper ceilings, and built-in dance floor. The venue also features floor-to-ceiling windows for tons of natural light and panoramic views of Lake Union itself. If you’re wanting an outdoor ceremony, you can hop over to Fairview Park (which is just a block away) and Imperia Lake Union will take care of the altar, decor, seating, and permitting. And if it rains, they’ll seamlessly move the party inside!

Within Sodo

The ultimate industrial-chic intimate wedding venue in Seattle! Within Sodo is housed in a historic building that features exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and large windows that flood the space with natural light. They have three different spaces, with The Lounge and the Courtyard being the most suited for more intimate events. One major highlight of this venue is that the owners are committed to sustainability and eco-friendly practices! They use energy-efficient lighting, encourage recycling and composting, and promote sustainable practices among staff and vendors.

Sodo Park

Sodo Park is a gorgeous, spacious venue that was originally built in 1907 as a warehouse utilized as a former manufacturing facility. It has since then been restored to its former glory, featuring the original brick walls, reclaimed wood beams, and rustic charm. The layout of this venue is super versatile and can be completely customized to fit your wedding vision! The main event space includes a grand hall, a mezzanine level, and a fabulous courtyard for you and your guests to enjoy. One of the main highlights of Sodo Park is that they’re known for their farm-to-table cuisine, which puts a heavy emphasis on locally-sourced, seasonable, sustainable ingredients. They have an in-house culinary team that will customize a menu for your wedding meals that showcase the unique flavors of the Pacific Northwest.

MV Skansonia

This has to be one of the most unique intimate Seattle wedding venues on this list! MV Skansonia is a fully restored vintage ferry boat with panoramic views of Lake Union and the Seattle city skyline. Who wouldn’t love a floating waterfront venue?! I love this option for couples who want an out-of-the-box wedding experience for themselves and their people. This venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces, but I would, of course, recommend taking advantage of the stunning outdoor scenery! The interior has a classic, elegant, nautical ambiance that will serve as the perfect reception space when it’s time to bring the party indoors.

Smith Tower

Epic views and delicious cocktails at Seattle’s first-ever skyscraper?! Smith Tower has been a historic landmark in Seattle since 1914 (when it was built and deemed the tallest building west of the Mississippi River) and now serves as a local attraction and intimate wedding venue. The Art Deco details of the interior make for a timeless wedding backdrop with brass fixtures, marble floors, and vintage finishes. The building also features a hidden speakeasy bar known as “The Observatory” on the 35th floor, which you can absolutely utilize for your cocktail hour!

Chihuly Garden and Glass

Located in the heart of the city, this Seattle wedding venue offers a unique and artistic setting for your big day. It features the breathtaking glass artwork of world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly and showcases his stunning glass sculptures throughout the venue! The curated garden setting is so lush and colorful, creating an enchanting outdoor wedding experience. If you want to get married indoors, there’s a gorgeous Glasshouse that’s filled with Chihuly’s vibrant artwork. I’m telling you, you can’t go wrong with this venue!

The Nest at Thompson Seattle

The Nest is an intimate rooftop wedding venue located on the 12th floor of Thompson Seattle, a luxury hotel in the downtown area. Of course, you have panoramic views of the city skyline, Puget Sound, and even the surrounding mountains! The sleek and modern design with contemporary furnishings creates a chic and sophisticated atmosphere for your wedding in Seattle. The Nest is also known for its creative, handcrafted cocktails made with locally-sourced ingredients, so feel free to create a custom drink menu for cocktail hour! The cozy fire pits will allow you to keep the party outside even when it gets late and a little chilly. Don’t forget to bring the marshmallows!

Best Intimate Wedding Venues near Seattle, WA

Outlook Inn

I recently shot Marina and Ryan’s intimate elopement here at Outlook Inn on Orcas Island! We took a scenic ferry ride to the San Juans which was the start of a beautiful elopement experience for everyone. They had their ceremony in the outdoor space behind Outlook Inn, which was giving total “secret garden” vibes. In addition, they have a waterfront lawn and an indoor event space with large windows that provide panoramic views of the water and surrounding mountains. How stunning does that sound?! Again, this venue focuses on farm-to-table cuisine and offers customizable catering options, ranging from elegant plated dinners to casual buffet-style meals.

JM Cellars

JM Cellars is located in Woodinville, WA, about 30 minutes northeast of Seattle. As you might be able to tell by the name, this is a winery wedding venue with vineyards for days! It’s nestled in the rolling hills of Washington, giving such a secluded, romantic setting for your big day. JM is known for its intimate and cozy atmosphere, which will make your guests feel right at home the entire time. And to make things more exciting, wine tastings and pairings can be arranged as part of your wedding experience here! How cool is that? They specialize in handcrafted, small-batch wines made from grapes sourced from Washington’s top-rated vineyards. AKA, even the wine snobs will approve!

Silver Cloud Point Ruston

We’ve got another waterfront intimate wedding venue! Silver Cloud offers gorgeous views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains, given that it is located in the waterfront community of Point Ruston. This community is in Tacoma, about 45 minutes south of Seattle, and still close enough to go visit if you’d like! The modern and elegant design features contemporary architecture and sophisticated decor all throughout the event spaces. The aesthetic of the venue can totally be customized to match your desired wedding style and vision! There are also two ‘getting ready’ rooms onsite to eliminate any back-and-forth travel before your wedding day. And if you’re having out-of-town guests, you’re in luck! The venue has a boutique hotel on the property, making it perfect for your loved ones to stay in close proximity.

Rock Creek Gardens

I’m absolutely in love with garden wedding venues, and this one is no exception! Rock Creek Gardens is located in Puyallup, WA, about 30 minutes south of Seattle. This venue is described as a “lush garden oasis,” boasting 10 acres of outdoor space filled with manicured flowers and greenery. There’s a large outdoor ceremony lawn with a cascading waterfall and covered pavilion (with a built-in bar) if you want to have a completely outdoor wedding and reception! There’s also a stunning indoor ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows so that you can still enjoy the natural light and beautiful scenery the gardens have to offer. When you host your wedding at Rock Creek Gardens, you have private and exclusive use of the estate and surrounding area!

Trinity Tree Farm

Trinity Tree Farm is a rustic yet elegant intimate wedding venue with scenic views of the Cascade Mountains and surrounding forests. The location of this venue is in Issaquah, WA, about 30 minutes east of Seattle! It sits on a 20-acre farm that has a large barn and plenty of outdoor spaces with panoramic views of the aforementioned landscape. One of the things I love about this venue is the unique vintage decor they’ve used throughout the spaces! With all of the antique furniture and rustic details, you’re left with a cozy and memorable setting for your wedding day. You have two completely different indoor options to choose from: the Lodge and the Barn. The lodge has a more modern, bright, and airy feel, while the Barn gives all the rustic cabin vibes! Trinity also provides onsite accommodations for your guests with a charming farmhouse and cabin.

Roche Harbor

You didn’t think I was done recommending venues in the San Juan islands, did you? Roche Harbor is located on San Juan Island itself, about 3 hours northwest of Seattle. This waterfront resort has tons of historic charm and natural beauty – perfect for destination weddings! You get breathtaking, scenic views of the harbor and surrounding islands as the backdrop for your wedding day. They also take their accommodations very seriously, with luxurious options such as beautifully decorated historic hotel rooms, suites, and even private cottages. They offer a wide range of onsite activities like hiking, kayaking, and whale watching to entertain you and your guests during your wedding weekend!

North Fork Farm

This intimate wedding venue offers tons of outdoor space to roam, amazing views of Mount Si, and is just 3 miles from the infamous Snoqualmie Falls. Located about 45 minutes northeast of Seattle, North Fork Farms highlights the natural beauty of the PNW while also providing indoor ceremony and reception options. There is both a restored barn and a farmhouse onsite so you don’t have to leave the property to get ready! The farmhouse also offers accommodations for a few guests depending on which package you choose. The farm itself supplies most of the ingredients for its farm-to-table catering model, which provides fresh produce and raises free-range livestock. There are multiple outdoor and indoor spaces to choose from that I’m sure you’ll absolutely love!

Robinswood House

Robinswood House was originally built in 1895 and is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places! The venue has been beautifully restored, maintaining its original charm and character. On the property you’ll find lush gardens, a pond, and a picturesque gazebo, all contributing to a romantic and serene setting for your Washington wedding. The Intimate Library would be the perfect space for a small wedding! This venue is actually located very close to Seattle in the city of Bellevue just 20 minutes away.

Lakewold Gardens

It’s hard to go wrong with a botanical garden wedding venue! Lakewold Gardens is located in the city of Lakewood, about 1 hour south of Seattle. There are over 10 acres of beautifully manicured space, complete with rare and exotic plants, water features, and a wide variety of garden rooms. The venue also has a historical mansion that serves as the star of the show! It has been restored since its conception in the early 1900s and features the original artwork, furniture, and fixtures. One of the most convenient things about this venue is that they offer specific micro wedding and elopement packages (at a discounted rate) for couples having a small event!

Lairmont Manor

This private estate is nothing short of a grand and elegant wedding venue! The gardens, lawns, and indoor spaces scream “luxury” with the attention to detail and a classic European feel. The mansion was built in 1914 and has some of the most beautiful architecture you can imagine. You’re more than welcome to utilize the gardens for your outdoor ceremony, or offer it as a space for your guests to explore during cocktail hour! There will be no shortage of stunning photo locations on the grounds of Lairmont Manor, I can guarantee you that.

Fireseed Catering

Fireseed Catering is THE best outdoor wedding venue on Whidbey Island! The barn, the gardens, the orchards, everything is just so perfect for a spring/summer outdoor wedding. And how could I forget the miniature ponies you can absolutely include in your day? When you book this venue, you get 3 days of complete, private access to all of the amenities. After completely renovating this 10-acre property, Fireseed now only caters for events held at their venue, allowing them to focus exclusively on your event.

Maplehurst Farm

This intimate wedding venue is located in south Mount Vernon, about 60 miles north of Seattle. The 6-acre family estate is situated along the Skagit River, which is a beautiful and picturesque area! You get amazing views of Mount Baker, old-growth trees, a large grass field, and landscaped gardens to roam. There is also a 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom Guest House location on the same property that you can rent in addition to the venue. This is a perfect option if you want to host an intimate wedding weekend and have everyone stay in the same place! Whidbey Island offers a variety of outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, and whale watching to fill the days before and after your wedding.

The Kelley Farm

The last wedding venue we have on our list is Kelley Farm, located in Bonney Lake, about 40 minutes southeast of Seattle! You will feel completely secluded at this venue with the 60 acres of farmland this property sits on. The grounds include a pond, a creek, and a variety of trees and plants that create a natural and picturesque setting for your day. The accommodations include both a charming cottage and a spacious getting-ready suite so that there’s the least amount of back and forth possible! Kelley Farm offers a plethora of vintage decor and furniture you can rent to add a unique touch to whichever venue space you choose. And to top it all off, the venue will help you coordinate activities like hiking, fishing, and horseback riding if you choose to partake!
